أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَ
TransliterationAlam nashraḥ laka ṣadrak
Translation · Saheeh InternationalDid We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast
erily, Allah has opened up your heart for you and made receiving revelation beloved to you.
وَوَضَعۡنَا عَنكَ وِزۡرَكَ
TransliterationWawaḍaAAnā AAanka wizrak
Translation · Saheeh InternationalAnd We removed from you your burden
nd I have removed sin from you.
ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهۡرَكَ
TransliterationAlladhee anqaḍa ẓahrak
Translation · Saheeh InternationalWhich had weighed upon your back
hat which was burdening you to the extent that it almost broke your back.
وَرَفَعۡنَا لَكَ ذِكۡرَكَ
TransliterationWarafaAAnā laka dhikrak
Translation · Saheeh InternationalAnd raised high for you your repute
nd I elevated for you your mention, so you are now remembered in the call to prayer, and the call preceding the prayer, and at other times.
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًا
TransliterationFainna maAAa alAAusri yusrā
Translation · Saheeh InternationalFor indeed, with hardship [will be] ease
ndeed, with difficulty and constraint, comes ease and options.

فَإِذَا فَرَغۡتَ فَٱنصَبۡ
TransliterationFaitha faraghta fanṣab
Translation · Saheeh InternationalSo when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]
o when you finish your work and complete it, strive in the worship of your Lord.
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرۡغَب
TransliterationWailā rabbika farghab
Translation · Saheeh InternationalAnd to your Lord direct [your] longing
nd divert your passion and resolve towards Allah alone.
